Sometimes we don’t feel our roots.
That means we need to go deeper into our grounding.
Grounding isn’t just about going into the earth.
It’s about being grounded in your element.
You feel it by connecting directly with existence.
You are part of a living, intelligent system.
When you are not in your element, you feel flat.
Dead inside.
You stop believing in the system, the mechanism, the role you’re playing.
You start asking, what’s the point?
If you don’t feel alive in it, if you don’t love it, exit.
Do not stay.
It’s not for you.
There is a conditioned part of us that has been programmed.
Get a job.
Get out there.
Do the thing.
So “getting a job” becomes doing someone else’s thing.
Becoming a cog in their machine.
But you can choose something else.
You can choose to create.
Anything.
That realization is powerful.
There is a stillness to creation, like still water, waiting for us to move.
It wants us to create.
Not one specific thing.
Anything.
From that place, you are no longer at the mercy of someone else’s factory, machine, or wheel.
Here’s the part no one likes.
Your voice will say, it’s not that simple.
And this is the hardest part.
Clarity requires action.
Not thinking.
Not circling.
When we doubt, step forward then retreat, loop the same thoughts, add the “but, but, but,”
we distort our own perspective.
We talk ourselves out of alignment.
The universe is malleable.
What stops us is what we generate ourselves.
Our hesitation becomes the obstacle.
With clear vision, nothing external can stop you.
What appears next is internal:
second-guessing, retreat to comfort, the pull of the familiar.
That’s where stagnation begins.
Stagnation is dead energy.
Dead energy kills momentum.
Over time, it kills the spirit.
Water that doesn’t move decays.
Life is the same.
When you stop flowing, when the inner light goes out, everything breaks down.
So when you hear the signal:
start the business, sell the house, take the journey, begin again.
Move.
Do it.
And watch closely.
Your greatest resistance will not come from the world.
Personally, in my own life, I reached a point where I felt flat.
Disconnected.
Moving but not alive.
I wasn’t hearing the signal, and I wasn’t flowing with life. Stuck.
Not able to make a choice that made sense. At least not in the direction I had been building, or my mind could rationalize.
Something had to change. But how?
I began listening more carefully.
Less forcing.
More receptivity.
Letting myself feel what was true before trying to explain it.
Listening to the guidance from my mentors, from people life brought to wake me up, listening to my inner compass. The signal. Listening to my guides, my ancestors and great spirit.
From there, confidence returned slowly, not all at once, but enough to take action in a new direction. One step at a time. Ill write more about this process in a future post if your interested.
I’ll be sharing parts of that journey here, not as answers, but as reflections. If something resonates, you’re welcome to follow along.
This post is from an event in my life, after sitting with mentor Ger Lyons in Ireland, discussing stagnation, the feeling of flatness, and how to respond to it. Mentors come in many shapes and with different flavors for different times of our lives. I had the honor to be connected to Ger by another mentor, Dominique, and from there many shifts and perspective, and for that I am so grateful. If you want to learn more, please reach out. Or put better.. follow the signal.
